The Killers Biography

This UK quintet was founded in 1991 by former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno (b. Paul Andrews, 17 May 1958, Chingford, London, England). Comprising Steve Hopgood (drums), Cliff Evans (guitar, ex-Tank), Gavin Cooper (bass) and Nick Burr (guitar), their approach was firmly rooted in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement of the early 80s. Murder One, released in early 1992, was rather anachronistic, sounding virtually identical to early Iron Maiden, though the calibre of the protagonists guaranteed press and public interest. (NB: Not to be confused with the US indie rock band of the same name.)
